Welcome to the Mercy Health, Armed Services Marathon, 1/2 Marathon & 5K
Formally known as the Oktoberfest Marathon, 1/2 Marathon & 5K, the Armed Services Marathon, 1/2 Marathon & 5K has 2 objectives:
The venue, courses, schedule, timetable, aid stations, etc remain the same as the 2018 & 2019 Oktoberfest events. Spring Lake Central Park is the venue for this well established, well organized, very scenic and family friendly event. Central Park is a great park setting with a play area for children to enjoy. The park allows the packet pickup/food tent, beer tent, finish area, awards area to all be within 100' of each other. Aid stations on the marathon and 1/2 marathon will be placed every 2 miles. EVERY aid station will be fully stocked with water, Gatorade, Honey Stinger gels, bananas, pretzels and if temperatures warrant, ice chips. The 5K run will have 1 aid station also stocked with all supplies.
We will have our "WALL OF HONOR" near packet pickup. This wall will allow you to share to whom you're running for. You can write the name of your designee (active, retired, former or fallen) on this wall for others to see and also respect.
There will also be a KIDS' FUN RUN on Friday, during packet pickup. Each child will receive a short sleeve "Dri Fit" shirt and finisher medal. Kids may be registered to participate online or during Friday's packet pickup.
All participants, including 5K runners, will receive a long sleeve "Dri-Fit" material shirt and die cast finisher medal. Marathon and 1/2 marathon participants will also receive a pint glass with their finisher medal. After you finish, you can enjoy your post race food (and if desired), post race beer while watching other family and friends finish their events. For individuals that are not able to finish the marathon in the allotted 6 hour time limit, we do offer a 1 hour early start. THIS EARLY START IS ONLY FOR INDIVIDUALS THAT CAN'T COMPLETE THE MARATHON IN 6 HOURS.
Packet pickup and late registration will take place under the tent at Spring Lake Central Park on Friday and Saturday. All 3 events will start 120 yards from the finish area. The marathon and 1/2 marathon takes runners around scenic Spring Lake with several views of the water, enjoying running past local marinas and residential neighborhoods. No industrial parks. 90% of the run course is on paved bike path. Shown below is a slide show featuring some of the views you'll enjoy.
It will be our privilege to see and serve you at the Mercy Health Armed Services Marathon, 1/2 Marathon & 5K
